A desire to create something beautiful or original, to learn something, to feel something are inherent aspects of creating art. Therefore one’s intentionality during the creative process becomes an important aspect of the thought processes that lead to the creative object, be it sound, vision or both. In modern spirituality intentionality has an important role in the need for evolving consciousness necessitates changing (evolving) ways of thinking and doing. This is no less important in creating music. In fact there is a symbiotic relationship between spiritual evolution both as an individual and society and music making; an inextricable link that surfaces throughout history and across genre and style. Whether music is servicing the human desire to feel or move or to expunge the personal emotions of an individual artist there always seems to be some degree of newness in the creative work that connects to newness in thinking feeling and moving.
